Do you ever realize that there are a lot of times when we come to church, our focus and our intention for being there is not because of Jesus anymore? Many times we are there just to fulfill a responsibility as a Christian, we made it so familiar and so ordinary that as a Christian, our only responsibility is to attend church. Not only that, we care how people will think of our absence, we are afraid of pastors or leaders’ follow ups, we are concern on how people will look at us. Therefore, the purpose of prayer, having bible studies, going sunday service, attending youth service is only to fulfill man’s desire rather than to draw near to Jesus.
For your Maker is your husband– the LORD Almighty is his name– the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.
My friends, you were created and fashioned by the Master. Your husband is your Maker. He made you just the way you are, and He has a specific and amazing plan for you, a destiny for your life. You are God’s masterpiece. You have the seeds of greatness inside of you. Sometimes, its easy for you to spot the greatness in others. But today, be sure and certain that you too have the greatness God put in you. You have a destiny, a unique call and a special purpose God created just for you.
Ephesians 4:27 – and do not give the devil a foothold.
We all know that the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy; and the devil is always there coming with all sorts of lies to keep our lives in defeat. If he can keep your mind under defeated thoughts and stronghold, he can keep your life in defeat. Therefore, the Word of God tells us that we are not to give the devil a foothold! Not even one! But many will ask, how? How am I supposed to do so?
Psalm 107:1 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.
Dear friend, what do you have in life right now at this moment? Joy? Peace? Love? Money? Excitement? Happiness? Health? Wealth? Strengths? Problems? Obstacles? Challenges? Weaknesses? Regardless what you may have on hand right now, let not your heart be troubled nor dismayed, just be thankful and know clearly that you have a great and mighty God who is able and willing to bless you, save you, deliver you for He loves you with His unfailing love.
Matthew 14:27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
Jesus is here today to tell you that: “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” Maybe you are going through a dark, difficult moment in your life over this few weeks. Perhaps the storm just rages on with no let-up and you are trembling in fear. You feel that anytime from now, you may just cave in a go under because you cannot beat the storms. Tiredness, heaviness, pressure etc are all coming after you and it causes you to end up on bed sleepless most of the nights. Is there a way out? Is there any turning point for you? Yes… let not your heart be troubled today as peace is given to you (John 14:27).
A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.
Isn’t it good to know that you have a God who is a Deliver? You might feel afflicted today, but God is working to bring you out of that difficult situation. It may not be in the way you thought, but you have to trust that God has your best interest at heart.
Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Dear friend, do know that God has given you the authority in life. The decision to use the authority is made by yourself. So, it’s time to take up the authority that you have to overcome your problems and challenges!
Instead of staying in defeated ground, take up the authority and move forward to the victory ground;
Instead of suffering in sicknesses, take up the authority and proclaim healing and enjoy good health Jesus has for you;
Instead of saying you are in lack, take up the authority and give thanks that you are prosperous for Jesus is your shepherd and you shall not be in want;
Instead of murmuring in challenges, take up the authority and speak life to overcome your situations.
No matter what it is, trust in the Lord! Take up the authority you have in Christ and move on in life with living hope.
When you take up the authority in life, you will surely see yourself moving toward another level in life to glorify God!
Zephaniah3:17 The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.
Dear friend, regardless what kind of situation you are in or what are you encountering right at this moment, do not fear for God is with you and do not be dismayed for Jesus is your God. He will strengthen you and help you, He will uphold you with His righteous right hand. (Isa41:10) No matter what obstacles you are facing, cast your cares on the Lord and He will surely sustain you for He will never let the righteous fall. (Psa55:22)
Nehemiah 6:3 – So I sent messengers to them with this reply: I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?
When Nehemiah was carrying out the work of rebuilding the wall, the enemies were scheming to harm him and to hinder the work from going on. They were asking Nehemiah to come and meet together in one of the villages but Nehemiah replied them that he is now carrying on a great project and cannot go down. What he replied has told us a great truth impliedly! Many of times in life, we do not recognize that God has great and wonderful plan for us, that no one can be you and do the plans of God that He entrusted you to do. But the enemy is always there scheming to pull your down from fulfilling what God has destined in your life!
Psalm 150:6 – Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
When was the last time you praise the Lord with your mouth and with your heart? Praising God is not a work nor a ritual activity, but it is a response of intimacy to God, praising Him for being who He is and for what He has done in our lives. We have to understand that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, we are not of this world but we are from the heavenly kingdom, therefore, all we need in life is the presence of God. Of course God loves to bless us with presents, but ultimately it is the presence of God that matters.
